Privacy Policy
Effective September 11, 2026
Fuelit (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is operated by Sutton Automation LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the Fuelit iOS application (the “App”).
By using Fuelit, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Account Information
You sign in with Sign in with Apple or Continue with Google. We receive your name and email address from the provider you choose. Fuelit does not offer password accounts and never stores a password for you. Authentication is managed through Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Profile & Preferences
During onboarding you provide age, sex, height, weight, goal weight, activity level, and goal pace, along with food allergies, dietary restrictions, foods you won’t eat, and your cooking preferences: which days you cook, how much time you have, recipe complexity, cooking skill, and kitchen equipment. We use this information to calculate your calorie and macro targets and to build meal plans that fit your constraints. Some of this information, such as weight and allergies, is health-related data, and we treat it accordingly.
Health Data (Apple Health)
With your explicit permission, Fuelit reads three things from Apple Health: weight, active energy burned, and resting energy burned. Access is read-only and entirely optional; we never write anything to Apple Health, and you can turn access off at any time in the App or in iOS Settings.
Health data you sync is transmitted to and stored on our servers so we can chart your progress and personalize your daily calorie budget. Specifically, we store your daily active and resting energy totals and weight readings. Health data is never used for advertising or marketing and is never sold or shared with third parties.
Food Log & Meal Plan Data
We store your meal plans, daily food logs, weight logs, favorite and recent foods, recurring items, and grocery lists on our servers to provide the core functionality of the App.
Camera & Photos
With your permission, the App uses your camera to scan food barcodes and to photograph meals for logging. If you choose a photo from your library, Fuelit only ever receives the single image you select through the iOS photo picker; the App has no access to your photo library. Meal photos are used to produce a nutrition estimate and are not stored by us; only the resulting nutrition numbers are kept.
Subscription Data
Subscription status and purchase history are managed by RevenueCat and Apple. We receive subscription status to determine feature access, but we never see or store your payment details.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the App schedules reminders such as cook-day prompts and weigh-in reminders on your device, and registers a device push token with our servers. You can turn individual reminders off in the App and revoke notification permission in iOS Settings.
Analytics & Tracking
The App contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It does not use the advertising identifier and does not track you across other apps or websites. Our website uses Vercel Analytics, which collects anonymous usage data without cookies and without collecting personal information.
We use your information to:
- Calculate your calorie and macro targets and build weekly meal plans that fit your preferences and constraints
- Track your daily nutrition intake, weight, and progress toward your goals
- Estimate nutrition for foods you log by description or photo
- Manage your subscription and feature access
- Improve the App and develop new features
When you log food by describing it in words or by taking a photo, that description or photo is sent through our servers to OpenAI to estimate the nutrition content. We do not send your name, email address, or any other identifying information; requests are associated only with an anonymized, one-way-hashed identifier. Meal photos are processed to produce the estimate and are not stored by Fuelit. OpenAI acts as our service provider and, under its API terms, does not use this data to train its models.
Your weekly meal plans are generated by Fuelit’s own planning system from a human-reviewed recipe library. Your personal data is not sent to any AI provider to generate meal plans.
Nutrition estimates and meal plans are suggestions and do not constitute medical or dietary advice.
We use the following third-party services:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosts our backend: authentication, database, and application servers. Your account and app data are stored here.
- OpenAI — nutrition estimation for food you log by text or photo. Receives the description or photo plus an anonymized identifier; never your name or email.
- RevenueCat — subscription management. Receives an anonymized app user identifier.
- Open Food Facts — barcode product lookups. Only the barcode number is sent; no personal data.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store billing, and push notification delivery.
- Google — Google Sign-In authentication.
- Vercel — website hosting and anonymous website analytics.
Our food database is built from USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts data; searching it involves no third-party service and no personal data leaves our systems.
Each third-party service is required to protect your data in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable law.
Your data is stored in a managed database hosted on AWS in the United States. All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption, access to your account is protected by industry-standard token-based authentication, and sign-in credentials on your device are stored in the iOS Keychain.
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Delete your account and all associated data directly in the App
- Revoke Apple Health and notification permissions at any time through iOS Settings
- Opt out of anonymous website analytics
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to restrict processing. If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@fuelit.app.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the App under You › Delete account & data. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your profile, preferences, meal plans, food logs, weight logs, and sign-in identity are all removed from our systems, and the App’s local data is cleared from your device.
Deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store subscription; manage that separately in iOS Settings under Subscriptions.
Fuelit is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 years old to use the App, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe someone under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, please contact us at support@fuelit.app or visit our Support page.
